Since then, the modern-day black romantic film -- starring Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps -- has become a classic for many black filmgoers.
Gina Prince-Bythwood is the woman behind the film, and other great works, including 'The Secret Life of Bees' and 'Disappearing Acts.'
